Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue

It was a privilege to watch a multi-service team including Police, Ambulance and Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue make safe and recover an injured mountain biker in Betws y Coed. The rider left a mountain road at speed and fell a significant distance into a ravine sustaining serious injuries. Best wishes to the rider for a speedy recovery.

Clearly not something that anybody wants to happen, but when it does, we are very grateful for the amazing response from these brilliant people.

Fantastic effort from all involved.

Choose your route

No introduction is required to the walking and climbing opportunities in Snowdonia. Whether you prefer a traditional hike, an exhilarating scramble or a full-on technical climb the National Park never fails to deliver. Our favourite mountain walk at the moment is hike / scramble to the summit of Moel Siabod via the Daer Ddu ridge leading to some of the best views of the Snowdon Horseshoe and Glyderau.
